Weebit Nano Limited (ASX: WBT)

Weebit Nano Limited on 14 May 2026 completed a share purchase plan raising about $15M from existing shareholders. Total funds reached around $102 million after a previous institutional placement. Funds will support scaling ReRAM technology, AI development and general needs.
On 4 May 2026, customers of Weebit Nano taped-out two chip designs using ReRAM for manufacturing. One prototype is working, another received first silicon. Testing and qualification will take 12–18 months before mass production.

On 30 April 2026, Q3 FY26 update showed A$87 million capital raise, upgraded FY26 revenue outlook to at least A$12 million, and two new agreements. Progress continued with Texas Instruments, onsemi, and selection for a Korean compute-in-memory program.

In March 2026, ReRAM was selected for a South Korea government funded compute-in-memory AI program focused on lowering energy use and improving performance. It expands work with DB HiTek and builds on long term research collaborations in AI field programs.

BrainChip Holdings Ltd (ASX: BRN)Β

During 2025, BrainChip Holdings Ltd (ASX: BRN) outlined a change toward silicon, modules and reference designs, targeting to become a full system partner. The approach links technology progress with commercial plans and targets sectors defence, aerospace, medical, industrial.
In the Edge AI market, demand is rising as processing moves from cloud to devices for lower latency and power use. Akida and TENNs are positioned for on-device AI as focus shifts toward efficient edge computing solutions.

Key 2025 milestones included space and defence expansion through Frontgrade Gaisler, U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory radar work involving Raytheon, and wearable use cases with Onsor Technologies, including seizure prediction devices using Akida chips operating on low power systems.

Earlier updates included June 2025 Developer Hub and MetaTF release, August 2025 cloud access tools and 2026 plans focused on Akida GenAI, reference designs, AKD1500 rollout and expanded channel distribution to support commercial growth and customer adoption.

Archer Materials Ltd (ASX: AXE)Β

On 15 May 2026, Archer Materials Ltd (ASX: AXE) advanced its Biosensor beta prototype after an earlier alpha device showed clinical grade potassium sensing. The beta system is designed for preclinical testing, manufacturability and usability with trials targeted for 2027, plus early lithium monitoring work.

Development includes cartridge design, handheld electronics and chip integration toward manufacturable output. IMEC supports Biochip processing, while manufacturing partners support scale-up and clinical deployment. Patent filings are being prepared for integration methods.
On 12 May 2026, AXE advanced its quantum work toward a working qubit. It is moving from lab devices to wafer-scale manufacturing using semiconductor processes, with repeated design and testing improving graphene device consistency.

Scaling focuses on reproducibility, throughput and foundry compatibility. Graphene technology may extend into AI infrastructure, sensing, photonics and cloud systems, linking quantum development with wider semiconductor uses supporting future applications and industry integration pathways over time.
