ASX is home to companies from vastly different industries, yet some stand out because of their growth potential and strong market positioning. The two unique businesses benefiting from powerful long-term trends in defence technology and premium food consumption are

Electro Optic Systems (EOS)Β

is an Australian defence technology company. It is operating through two core divisions-Defence Systems and Space Systems. The Defence Systems segment focuses on the remote weapon systems, counter drone technology and high energy laser weapons while Space Systems division develops optical sensors and laser-based systems used to detect and track objects in the space.

The company has recently strengthened its position through multiple defence contracts and product developments. For example, EOS secured new counter-drone system orders worth US$45 million including US$42 million order for its Slinger Remote Weapon System from a Middle Eastern customer. These systems are expected to be manufactured in Australia and delivered during 2026.

EOS is also expanding its technology portfolio with high energy laser weapons and counter drone defence platforms which are becoming increasingly relevant as global defence spending rises.Β
The the company has secured new RWS orders and continues discussions with international partners to expand production and supply chains for counter-drone technology.

With market capitalisation of roughly $2.06 billion and impressive one year return of around 805.6%, EOS has increasingly appeared in the discussions around innovative ASX growth shares, particularly those benefiting from the rising defence technology demand and global security spending.

Cobram Estate Olives (ASX: CBO)Β

is a vertically integrated olive farming and premium extra virgin olive oil company with the operations in Australia and the United States. The company manages the entire value chain including olive tree nurseries, farming assets, olive mills, bottling facilities and quality testing through its Modern Olives laboratory.

This integrated structure allows Cobram Estate to control product quality from cultivation to final distribution. The company produces premium olive oil under several brands and exports to customers across more than dozen countries. With large scale olive groves and processing infrastructure, the business has established itself as a leading player in the Australian olive industry and an emerging global producer.

A key strategic development for the company is its acquisition of California Olive Ranch in the United States which recently received regulatory approval from the US Department of Justice. Completion of this transaction is expected to further strengthen the company’s presence in the large US olive oil market and expand its production capabilities.

With a market capitalisation of around $1.41 billion and a one-year return of approximately 58.33%, Cobram Estate is often highlighted among consumer focused ASX growth shares, particularly those benefiting from rising global demand for premium and healthy food products.
