MSB is growing with rising revenues, advancing clinical trials, strong cash position, and expanding cell therapy programs.

Mesoblast Ltd (ASX: MSB)Β

on 30 April 2026 shared its quarterly activity report for the period ended March 31 2026. The company reported Ryoncil gross sales of US$35.3 million and net revenue of US$30.3 million for the quarter. Sales during February and March improved after a slower January period linked to holiday season trends. Revenue generated from Ryoncil since its launch last year is now nearing US$100 million. Net operating cash spend for the quarter was reduced to US$4.1 million due to strong receipts and careful expense management. The company finished the quarter with US$122 million in cash reserves.

Development and Regulatory Progress

MSB confirmed that patient recruitment has been completed in the Phase 3 study of rexlemestrocel-L for chronic low back pain. During its R&D event held on April 8 in New York the company discussed plans to expand the use of Ryoncil into additional adult and pediatric rare disease areas. It also shared updates on programs focused on inflammatory back pain and heart failure. The FDA cleared the study for adult SR-aGvHD and the first trial sites are expected to begin activation during the current quarter. In another important step the FDA granted Investigational New Drug clearance for a registrational trial of Ryoncil in Duchenne muscular dystrophy which affects about 15,000 children in the United States.

Future Cell Therapy Programs

Mesoblast also introduced its next generation mesenchymal stromal cell strategy. The company announced an exclusive worldwide license agreement for a patented CAR technology platform designed to improve the precision and strength of its cell therapy products. The platform may support future treatment opportunities in ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease. Mesoblast also plans to develop CAR-MSC therapies targeting Lupus Nephritis and other autoimmune diseases connected to B cells where long term immune regulation is considered important.

Phase 3 Trial

MSB on 29 April 2026 announced that recruitment targets were achieved in its pivotal Phase 3 trial evaluating rexlemestrocel-L for chronic low back pain linked to degenerative disc disease. The placebo controlled study includes more than 300 patients who will be monitored for 12 months after receiving either a single injection or a sham procedure. The trial aims to confirm earlier findings that showed reductions in pain and opioid use for up to three years. Top line study results are expected in mid-2027 followed by a planned FDA filing in Q3 2027 if outcomes are positive.
